Purpose of Position:Provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment in an inpatient psychiatry unit for geriatric patients ensuring appropriate medication management and planning.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Provide direct psychiatric evaluation, assessment and treatment Provide evidence-based care to geriatric age patients in a Title 22 unit. Function as an integral part of the collaborative care team which includes nursing staff and other services such as Internal medicine, Neurology, Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapy, Nutrition, and Social Work, in creating multidisciplinary treatment planning through patient observation, treatment and family education.Complete documentation and billing in a timely fashion as required by complianceEnsure compliance with standards of regulatory agenciesAccept patients from other facilities using EMTALA guidelinesSpecific Job Qualifications:
MD or DO from an accredited School of MedicineLicense to practice medicine in the State of CaliforniaBoard Certification in PsychiatryCompletion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry NOT necessary, but interest and experience with Geriatric Population desired.Additional Information:
